ZTE Launches a 65W Multi-Port Gallium Nitride Charger with 2C1A Output Configuration
GaN gallium nitride is the third generation semiconductor material, which can be used in communication, lighting, radar and other fields. Chargers using gallium nitride power devices have high frequency and high efficiency, and can achieve high power output in a small volume. In 2018, gallium nitride chargers were officially mass-produced to meet consumers, which immediately became popular all over the country, and changed people’s rigid impression that chargers were stupid and thick.
In addition to third-party digital brands, mobile phone manufacturers have also set foot in the field of gallium nitride chargers. At present, mobile phone manufacturers such as Xiaomi, OPPO, Samsung, realme, Nubia, Meizu and Lenovo have launched gallium nitride chargers. In December 2020, ZTE ZTE also launched its own gallium nitride chargers and successfully joined this big family.
Different from the traditional charger, ZTE gallium nitride charger is designed with strip-shaped straight-in structure, which is slender and small in size, with all white matte surface treatment and ZTE 65W GaN printed on the side, indicating that the charger is not simple.
There are three outlets, namely two USB-C PD fast charging outlets and one USB-A multi-protocol fast charging outlet. USB-C interface supports power blind insertion technology, and 65W full power output can be obtained by inserting any USB-C, which makes it more convenient for users to use without memorizing socket parameters.
Using the high-frequency and high-efficiency characteristics of gallium nitride power devices and through the three-dimensional arrangement design, ZTE gallium nitride concentrates the high-power output of 65W into a small shell, which is 40% smaller than the traditional ordinary 65W charger, and is easy to carry in backpack.
In terms of output performance, ZTE gallium nitride charger is developed based on USB PD fast charging standard, which can output 65W power in small size, and PD fast charging has good universal compatibility, and supports fast charging of mobile phones such as Apple, Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi and ZTE. Using ZTE gallium nitride charger to charge iPhone can charge more than 50% power in half an hour, which is far faster than Apple’s original 5W charger.
In addition to supporting PD 3.0 fast charging standard, ZTE gallium nitride charger also has common fast charging protocols such as QC3.0, SCP, FCP, AFC, etc., which has good fast charging compatibility for common mobile phones, notebooks, tablets and game machines in the market.
In order to take care of the traveling users when going out, ZTE gallium nitride charger adopts foldable pin design, which can be put into the shell when going out, so as to avoid scratching with luggage and articles, which is convenient for going out.
